I%26#039;ve had acne since I was twelve, and I%26#039;ve been putting benzoil peroxide on my face since then. I haven%26#039;t had a big breakout in almost a year, but my skin is so nasty and dry! I can%26#039;t apply lotion (even if it%26#039;s %26quot;oil free%26quot;) because I always break out! I am too scared to try new products for fear of breaking out. What should I do?|||Oh no, Dear.
You should not be using benzoyl peroxide. That%26#039;s making your skin so dry! I used to use this, too. And here%26#039;s the thing: By making your face so dry, it%26#039;s actually putting your oil glands into like over-drive so they begin to create excess oils and such to make up for being so dry. (I know you%26#039;re not oily, but excess oils can cause break outs.)
I used to be afraid of moisturizer, too. Absolute Moisture by BioElements is a great medium moisturizer that isn%26#039;t too heavy and won%26#039;t cause break outs. You shouldn%26#039;t be using a heavy moisturizer even with your dry skin because it%26#039;ll put like a film over your face and won%26#039;t allow your pores to %26#039;breathe.%26#039;
For acne skin, I don%26#039;t recommend any products with benzoyl peroxide in it. Unless you%26#039;re using a cream for spot treatments (that%26#039;s just putting the cream on actual pimples, not your entire face.) You should try to find a cleanser with salicylic acid in it. Salicylic acid is a popular exfoliant used typically with acneic skin types. You should also try to find a mask that contains both salicylic acid and sulfur. Sulfur doesn%26#039;t smell great, but it%26#039;s antibacterial. I use a mask called %26quot;Amino Mask%26quot; by BioElements. It leaves my skin feeling great and it brightens it. It also doesn%26#039;t dry out your skin.
To get rid of a pimple, you need to dry it out (and exfoliate). That%26#039;s why a lot of people think that they have to use everything that dries out their skin to cure acne such as %26#039;oil-free%26#039; products, but that%26#039;s not the case. You%26#039;re actually doing more harm by drying it out so much rather than curing it.
So, with whatever you choose for your daily skin care routine, be sure it%26#039;s a balance between drying and moisturizing.
Hope this helps. :)|||Keep using what you are using, but for the dry skin, you should moisturize it with lotion or aloe vera. Just make sure it is something that won%26#039;t clog your pores.|||Cetaphil has a non-comedogenic moisturizer specifically for acne-prone skin. It works really well.|||just apply face pack i mean neem face pack it really help u
